Plans for Safer Internet Day 2016, 9 de febrero 2016

Dear SID Committees and Supporters

We hope you all had a good summer break. Plans for Safer Internet Day 2016 are now progressing at a pace – please read on to find out more…

SID 2016 has a new mascot
As previously notified, after serving us well for many years, we’ve decided the time has come to retire the SID mouse in favour of something more modern. So please join us as we say ‘farewell’ to SID mouse and ‘hello’ to SID smart device!

We’ll be updating our online presences to reflect this change in the coming weeks, including a new look Safer Internet Day website in October. For now, you can download the new logo for use in your own campaigns at http://www.saferinternetday.org/web/guest/sid-2016. An animated gif is also available to introduce the new SID mascot.

We kindly request that you do not amend the logo in any way other than adding a partner logo in the designated space. If you require the logo in a different format, or have any questions regarding use of the new SID logo, please contact us.

SID 2016 key messages
As in previous years, we have devised a set of key messages for the SID 2016 campaign to illustrate how we can all play our part for a better internet – these can be downloaded from
http://www.saferinternetday.org/web/guest/sid-2016. Please feel free to add details of your own activities in the indicated space if disseminating more widely.

New SID portal launching soon
As notified in the last SID update, we are in the process of developing a new SID portal as part of a new Better Internet for Kids portal – both will launch in October 2015. We will contact you shortly with details of how you can create you new profile on the new SID portal – the URL will remain as
www.saferinternetday.org.
